I have an HDD and my loading times for Windows is 5-10 seconds. My loading time for crossfire is basically zero other than xtrap loading up. If you want to pay around an extra $100 just to have your computer start up a couple seconds faster, than be my guest. Just don't complain when it fails within a year. -
Get an ssd later and use that money to upgrade your graphics card instead. and get a better power supply. ssds are fast but they're not needed. your not going to boot up your pc a lot anyways and if you want the faster loading times in games then still get it later. you can get a 7970 ghz or a 770 if you take out the ssd.

I don't see the problem in this. a computer with, say, UEFI bios and windows 8 OS installed could achieve a very low boot time, even in a disk-based storage. -

Well, Windows 8 doesn't require a lot of components to start it up. Most people still use Windows 7 or Vista since Win8 still isn't game ready for the rest of the community. An HDD and SDD are pretty significantly different on boot times and disk writing. Many people only get SSDs just for the boot drive and everything else to be put on a 1TB/2TB HDD. Which I think is probably the most common thing people do when building their on system. -

Windows 8 doesn't use a lot of components to boot up like Windows 7 and Vista. So of course you don't use an SSD as your boot drive. Many gaming system runs off Vista or 7 since most games aren't fully compatible with Win8 yet. -

Like I said, I have Windows 8, I currently have around 20 games, all of them run perfectly fine. The only thing bad about Windows 8 is the UI, but unless you're an idiot it shouldn't be a problem. -

Majority of the games were made compatible on those platforms before Windows 8 came out. Yeah there are games that are now Windows 8 compatible, but then there are some games that are not. If games are now compatible with Windows 8, then what are you trying to argue about? Windows 7 was released in 2009 and people have been using it ever since. When Vista was released people still used Windows XP, because Vista was garbage. Not many games are fully compatible with Windows 8. Metro LL and a bunch of games that ran off Steam refused to run on it for me.
