Can someone help me out here. I'm looking to build a new pc for gaming. I was looking at the AMD 6800K and it already comes clocked at 4.1ghz. Can someone tell me what the difference is between this and the 3570k? Performance wise.

3570k is far superior than the 6800k computation wise. The 6800k is superior graphics wise. Neither can't play games at 1080p smoothly without a discreet graphics card.

I would get the 3570k.

The 6800k is an APU, therefore the graphics on it are very good for integrated graphics. With a 3570k, you would almost certainly need to buy a graphics card because Intel graphics are complete trash. The 6800k is vastly cheaper and is on the fm2 platform, so motherboards will generally be cheaper. The 3570k on the other hand is on the z77 platform, so a decent motherboard will cost you more. If you are on a budget, go for the 6800k. If you have money to spend, get the 3570k.

The 3570K is far superior CPU wise despite using less power and lower clockspeed because of IPC. The 6800K's CPU is garbage compared to the 3570K, but people buy it because of the iGPU. The 5800K is pretty much the same thing maybe a little worse. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/675?vs=701

i've seen isis do better than igpu in 6800k in games, LoL
