Question on jump

When I snipe and peek for say another sniper, he peeks out jumping and frags me mid air, that's ping difference right?

At OP, my understanding is limited on this, so maybe someone can correct me, but it's either the ping total of both players or just your ping.

It doesn't even make much sense to me then, because it would seem like even with lag that the death info would arrive at the same speed as the positioning info of the other player (and therefore would look completely normal), but I dunno.
