Should OCG Support Ghost Mode in Crossfire?

Competitive GM will have so many complications though like the rules.
- What guns are allowed? Silenced guns, machine guns?
- What knives are allowed?
- What items are allowed? Foot/breath down?
- Etc, etc.

That is so stupid. You make rules and follow them. Nothing is complicated about it. -

Tell that to the people who actually decide what the rules are. Fairness is difficult with Ghost mode because there's so many things that can go into it. When it's competitive SND, its basic weapons, but if that's the case in GM, the entire gameplay is changed and different factors come into play. -

the players will just have to deal with it. they're not forced to take part it in it, so if they don't like it, they are welcome to step away from the tournament/events -

From all the discussions I've read and been a part of, my own conclusion has been as such:
Ghost mode is based around detecting where the ghosts are. This means accuracy is promoted. By that logic you can eliminate any and all excess weapons, since shooting styles are completely irrelevant, and be left with 2 options; Silenced or M16s.
There's an argument for each of those. Personally I lean towards M16 only, because from my POV managing your OWN sound is an important skill that it removed with the inclusion of silent weapons.
From that basis you can determine what is balanced on BL sides, whether it be armour, knives axes, or w/e. But the gun argument has pretty much been fleshed out as it is; placing value on precision means removing as many guns as possible in order to remove the irrelevant variable. There is an argument for allowing snipers as well as m16s (or m4-silenced), however that's something I've never looked deeply enough into. -

This is a toxic attitude, as it does nothing to promote refining and balancing the rules to get the maximum potential out of a game. Change can be good or bad, but just telling people to deal with it is pretty much never an ideal response. -

I do agree with this. I think we have crated a solid set of rules to go by. We will most likely end up changing the rules based on the community. -

I can create an equal rule set for competitive GM, but it's not like anyone would play.
The rule set we have is mainly open based.
We have 13 weapons banned.
5 assault rifles,1 Sub Machine Gun, 1 Machine Gun, 3 Shotguns, and 3 Melees.
**Note: These may change and some of them are groups which I just counted as 1. ** -

So GR have restrictions, but BL can feel free to use whatever? Shovel, kukri, axe, breath down, footstep down, right? -

BD isn't that hard to go against especially when they have only knives. In most cw and tournament plays, GR side usually rips up bl side even when they have bd. -

Exactly. But in the tourney's I've played the best way for BL to win is plant and stall. So Melee wouldn't be a problem if you know what you're doing. -
from what I've experienced and remembered in competitive GM like 2 years ago, BL is allowed to have breath/step down and speedy but not allowed to have any character items (armor, flash guards, etc). and they are only allowed to use regular knives. and from what I've remembered for the GR side, silenced guns are allowed (I'm not really sure about the weapons since all my old team use was silenced m4s). But again, speedy is allowed and no other character items like armor and flash guards.

IMO in order for GM to be competitive, it needs to have a barebones competitive ruleset, e.g. knives, maybe axes, with no silencers, armor, or bd. The reason GM died in the first place was probably that there was no widely accepted standard ruleset for scrims.

I would prefer standard yet balanced, store brought GP weapons only. Anything else will cause the event to fail... -

Wouldn't work.
People want to use axe/m4 silver. I liked the cfbr rules. They don't have breathdown and they let you use armor. I think those rules would have the biggest outcome of particapents seeing how knife is a bit harder to use. It won't attract an average GM player nor a new one. -

I was trying to indirectly suggest seeding clans like IBeast and pink mist out of the process with those rules.
