Special note for hackusations and bust video posts

Please note it is against the rules to post hackusation videos on these forums. While there is a lot of discussion going on in the appropriate thread spamming the boards with other videos is still not going to be tolerated.

In addition, we want to point out that posting a video of you or someone you know using a vip hack, or an actual hack of any kind will result in your account being banned.

We are not going to tolerate players who want to demonstrate example hacks by posting their own hack videos.

We've already issued one ban for this, unfortunately that player was a very high level and decided changing their name for a day to "famouscheats" was going to get around a ban.

It did not.

We will continue to enforce these kinds of bans.

    Great job!
  • I understand he was trying to prove a point but Wow.

    He must of had a real good reason to display that cheat on his main. Anyone else would have used an Alt.

    Lesson learned
  • There has been a lot of stuff going on lately. People have to accept the fact that this is a game and some players might be more skillful than you.

    It takes a special kind of person to post a video on the forums of them hacking on their mains.

    Though, question for Saidin, has it been looked into whether or not said person had been hacked? I'd assume so, but just a thought.
  • It.

    Did.

    Not.

    Dont mess about with Saidin

    It wouldn't matter.

    A) Accounts do not get hacked.

    B) In the specific case of the people involved, account sharing is relatively common. And it's against the rules. Even if we did see evidence that a different IP or computer was on the account. It was very clear that the account was cheating under the name "famouscheats".

    That account changed their name to that on:
    <usn> <login> 5/12/2013 11:22:29 PM famouscheats -> <new name>

    <usn> <login> 5/12/2013 8:01:43 PM <original name> -> famouscheats
    Should note that I've removed the USN's logins and original names.

    We have records of all account changes, that includes things like emails, in game names, passwords etc.

    We record the computer information from the people who changed it including IP information.

    We weigh all information both for and against when issuing a ban. In this case, the account was hacking on this account. Ban issued regardless of "who" was on it or what "ign" it was under.

    It's unfortunate that players think they need to resort to this. We were fully aware of the hack that was demonstrated before hand. That particular hack displays red dots and radar ESP outside of the actual radar zone in game. It would have been obvious throughout the long recording that there were some obvious red dots located way outside the mini map radar. But in the demonstration, red dots were only showed to be within the boundaries. They were also almost always located near a C4 or bomb site marker.

    Not to mention that to toggle things, there would have been a risk of displaying the actual hack menu in game. Coupled with the fact that while this shows "red dots" outside the radar, it also shows friendly dots outside the radar too. And changes their color. Something we didn't see in the original webcam recordings.

    In the end, testing hacks is not something we condone and can get you banned, whether the player was doing this demonstration for good measure or not.
