OT I don't think you will find too many people willing to travel across the country to play a few games of crossfire. Especially when there is no money,perm guns or playoff spots involved.

Because although his goal is more of a casual LAN event (so he's posting it in the Barracks), he ALSO wants to be sure to let the competitive community know. And since the competitive community generally doesn't venture outside of the comp section, posting a link to his thread in the barracks is the best way to involve them in the discussion.

Im not looking to have people travel across the country. This is a local thing. I will travel 3 hours to Chicago for this.

There should be atleast 50 people within 100 miles of Chicago that play CF.

Though it would be nice to have events like this, I enjoy a more team oriented experience with a greater reward. In the end if you want a good turnout you would need to host a decent prized event otherwise you will get more people deciding not to attend due to the cost of the event being too great for just going to hang out with people from Crossfire. Not to say something like this is bad, I just think it would be more worth while to have a competitive event similar to FG LAN.
