Any way to disable the mouse acceleration yet?

I play using around 46.18 centimeters per 360 degree turn on Counter-strike/Counter-strike global offensive

But the tracking in this game is so random I can't aim, my centimeters per 360 vary between 30 cm/360 and all the way up to 60 cm/360

Its not like you can learn to aim perfectly with this problem, because its a random amount every time

Has there been a fix for this?

  • There is no fix since the game was programmed with mouse acceleration. Just have to get used to it =x. I don't exactly know how acceleration works in games but I assume that if you use a lower sensitivity value then the increase in your sensitivity from acceleration will be less. That's just speculation though.

i used 62hz polling rate and it made my sensitivity faster, it also made the acceleration less
but it feels really bad, like you're playing with 60 fps

125hz = slightly slower, more accelertion
    500hz = a lot slower, a lot of acceleration
1000hz = incredibly slow, unplayable amount of acceleration

i don't know how hard it would be to program into the game proper aim

Ah, =/. Yeah, I think the CF developers f'd up on this =].
  • You won't get rid of it completely as it's built into the engine, however there are some programs that will help a little.

crossfire is not a game that automatically calls for the 'enhanced pointer precision' option
as long as you have that unchecked, there is no difference from using these fixes

there are many fixes to mouse input such as dinput, rawinput which were used by quake in 1999, and recently about a month ago Valve updated their old counter-strike 1.6 game to use Raw input

Wasn't really the CF developers fault. They didn't develop the engine, just licensed it. This problem even plagues the FEAR franchise, and other games that use the engine.

I was never able to have success with rinput/dinput. Normally it would occasionally launch without xtrap errors, but I couldn't remove the accel. Shame, because those 2 programs made ET so enjoyable.

As far as decreasing your polling rate, although it might make for smoother movement you are increasing your input lag the lower you make it. Double edged sword.

One of the best ways I've found to minimize it is to cap your FPS using a program like bandicam/***ory. It will make the acceleration more predictable. This also provides other benefits like going up ladders faster, etc.
  • The mouse accel doesn't make the game worse, just more difficult to aim well with.

    Wowowow.

Gona try that. Because capping my fps @ 60 while recording gives me even more mouse lag. Maybe I should set it higher up?

Ladder climbing is sooo slow with high fps.
