CGL: Gensis Anti-Cheat Concerns Addressed

Lately we have been getting a lot of concerns regarding our genesis Anti -Cheat that we would like to clear up.

People posting honestly don't know exactly what the program does. Shawn Showed me last night and how it works is it will look through what programs your computer is running while your game is in session and determine whether its a threat / hack.

Common misconceptions about the AC that are able to be proven as false. IF you can prove us wrong we are willing to look at evidence that says otherwise:

Misconception 1- The AC is a key logger.

No its not. It cant see what your crossfire login information is, so dont feel like its unsafe to use.

Misconception 2- It is a virus.

No it is not a virus, however some anti-virus software may scan it and considerate "possibly harmful" because it can view what processes your computer is running at the time you are in game as this is necessary to detect hacking software.

Misconception 3- The Anti-Cheat does nothing
Our Anti Cheat Staff has tested the majority of hacks for Crossfire on the Anti-Cheat and all have been successfully detected including VIP hacks.

Misconception 4- The AC can view my personal information.
This is false. The only thing CGL will have access to is your CGL account and the Anti-cheat which Identifies programs running while your in game to determine if they are a threat / hack.

FAQ's Regarding the Genesis Anti-Cheat
Q: Is it safe?
A: Yes, if you have evidence otherwise we are more than happy to look over it.

Q: Can we use bandicam or other recording programs instead of the Anti-Cheat?
A: No, but you can use both at the same time if you would like. All CGL events will require that you be logged into the AC client using your username and password from the CGL website, otherwise you and your team will receive penalties depending on the severity of the violation.

Q: How do we know it works?
A: We have tested all of the most current hacks on the system and it detects them, and we will be showing proof to z8 games that our AC system works before we partner with them for events to ensure the public knows our AC system is legitimate.

Thanks for your time and hopefully this clears up all the issues people were bringing up with the Genesis Anti-Cheat. We look forward to our event CGL Launch Tournament starting soon and other events we will be hosting in the future. If you have any other questions or concerns regarding the Anti-Cheat system or CGL please dont hesitate to ask us.

First off, great job on getting an anti cheat bro.
Since eveyone else is scared to ask the questions im about to ask then ill ask them
So if i have cheats on my pc but i am not using them then i wont randomly get ac detected right?
If the case happens where the ac actually catches something but i am not cheating at all, can i show you recording proof of it?

The AC only looks over whats running while your in game. If you had cheats in the past or don't have them running while on the Genesis Anti-Cheat, It wont detect you as hacking.

Morally speaking. There is no need for cheats. Even if you dont use them in tournaments. Thanks for the question and yes if it does kick you, either A get rid of the cheats your not using or B tell me and we will address the issue. BUT you probably shouldnt have hacks on your computer anyways =P

  • I usually trust scans from BitDefender, they usually are pretty good about distinguishing false positives and real threats. If you could have your coder explain this, it might help ease the minds of people. A quick search on what those 4 scans found and you've got some worried people. This was brought to my attention by quite a few people.

Gen Variant Kazy Description - http://www.trojan-removal-tool.com/110531/gen-variant-kazy-removal.html

Might want to clear up on what that is. I'm not implying anything. I'm just saying that someone who does not really know what that stuff really is might not understand why scans are coming up positive. Clearing that up, if there is a reason for that, would be recommended.

We arent out to be con men, Ive said it before if you can prove a flaw in our AC system post us proof on here or in private. We will be addressing the issues brought by Mod Polleus but we cannot do so publicly due to security reasons. I am not the creator or owner of the AC I just run the CGL Crossfire Division. How am I a con man?
