CF Stars Qualifying Final 4 Tournament Rules
Hello,
We will be posting here the rules for the Qualifying Tournament.
We will be using all rule sets for maps and weapons etc. determined by the CFL here:
http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=246364
With a few variations.
Map Choice
Home Field team will have first veto.
Away team will have second veto.
The match will be played on the remaining 3 maps with the order chosen randomly by [GM]Saidin.
Tie Breaks
The 3rd map in each match, if necessary will be 5 round games. Due to time constraints on everyone, we need to get the match over with and cannot be playing until 5am!
Home/Away
Disconnects
Disconnects only apply to active players. If you are disconnected after you die then we will finish that current game and start a new game with the current score.
Please note that if you disconnect due to a game or client error you will need to take a screenshot of the disconnect error and submit it to [GM]Saidin for ruling.
If you disconnect the rest of your team must all quit the match normally (by pressing escape and then leaving the game) immediately, and wait in the game lobby. If anyone continues to play for longer than 15 seconds after the disconnect the round will count.
All rounds prior to a disconnect will count, the round that the current disconnect happened on will be scrubbed unless the team played for longer than 15 seconds as listed above.
Please note, I have access to the database for the game. We can view from the raw data when a player errors out abnormally or when they quit regularly. Combined with screenshot data we will be able to determine if any malicious activity happened with intentional disconnects. If you intentionally disconnect we will disqualify your team.
Hacking
We will be observing the games and broadcasting the games live. If you are caught hacking during the match your accounts will be banned and you will be disqualified from the tournament. No exceptions.
Bandicam will be used.
Voice Communication and Broadcast
The games will be broadcast out of the CFL Channel starting at 7:30pm EST. Any team failing to be ready before then will be disqualified. Any team not ready to go once the first game is done will be disqualified.
Games will be Observed by [GM]Saidin separately and broadcast by Gecks and David.
Replays will be saved and reviewed on the following day.
We will be using the ESG Mumble for this. We will set up 2 channels. Teams must use the ESG Mumble.
Disqualified Teams
If the winning team is found to be cheating or manipulating rounds through disconnects they will be DISQUALIFIED and the other team from the finals will be chosen.
Yes that sucks for the team in the first round. Unfortunately we're out of time and we have to put our foot down on these things.
These are non negotiable. We will be looking at the entire match data after to determine any malicious activity. My advice to all 4 teams playing these games is to check their ego's at the door. There is 2-4 hours of competition still left against the best teams in the game before you can even think you have a chance to go to China.
Ask yourself this
"Would you hack CrossFire for the possible trip to China?" If the answer is yes, then you'll be dq'ed when we catch you cheating. If the answer is no, then it's safe to say the other teams also answered no and you won't have to be so paranoid about cheating.
X-Trap picks up nearly 100% of the public hacks available for the game. If you are using a privately coded hack and are caught cheating you'll be dq'ed. If you want to better the game, your reputation or your chances at winning competitions then you would submit those kinds of hacks to us so we can have it analyzed and blocked from being able to be used.
Play Hard, Play Legit and everything will be fine. If you lose, you're out, if you win congrats!
Good Luck to all 4 teams.

Lifeline will have Homefield advantage in their game vs Carbon.
Hammertime will have Homefield advantage in their game vs Carnage.
Please note, due to Carbon's team being located on the west coast will will play map 2 on the West Coast Server. Map 1 and Map 3 (if necessary) will be played on an East server (Echo).Hammertime will have Homefield advantage in their game vs Carnage.

How would the game ever be a 3 v 5?
You mean if there are 2 deaths?
Any match with a disconnect on an active (alive) player will be scrubbed.
Same as the LAN only now official before it happens to prevent whining.
I WILL check match records and I WILL ban you if you disconnect on purpose. Therefore people should ONLY be disconnecting legitimately. And in all cases a disconnect due to a client error is not the fault of the person. regardless of their team being down 2 players or not, it's possible to come back from all scenarios. The match is much more fair to scrub the current 3v5 and continue as if the current game with the disconnect was never played. -
To give an example of a round.
Carnage is playing Hammertime.
Hammer time has homefield advantage. They get to veto first. They veto Ankara.
Carnage then gets to Veto the next map, they veto Black Widow.
The 3 remaining maps are:
Port, Sub Base, Mexico.
At this point [GM]Saidin will randomly choose the map order and the match will begin.
5 v 5 on Map 1.Lets say that in this game on map 1, Hammertime is up 6-3 on Carnage. The following day I will have a look at all recorded disconnects. Then I will look at our raw database information. This information shows the type of disconnect that happened to the player. Client error, regular quit (esc quit) etc.
In game 10 of that round Hammertime kills 3 of Carnage's players and is currently at game time 1m 45s up 5 players to 2.
If one of Carnage players disconnects due to a client error at this time here is the following procedure.
The player who client errored must take a screenshot of the error.
The remaining players (alive and dead) on Carnage have 15 seconds to press escape and quit the match to the lobby.
At this point the match will end by default and then be moved to the game lobby.
At this point the player who disconnected will send the screenshot to GM-Saidin.
At this point the players will ready up and we will move into the game again. The score will be 6-3 and we will be playing on the 10th round in a 5 v 5 match. The 10th round has been scrubbed and restarted.
I will then line up the time of the disconnect, with the screenshot evidence and then make a ruling as to whether the disconnect was on purpose.
If we find ONE disconnect on purpose then we will disqualify the team. -

You actually think MOSS is a good anticheat? Here's a hint, it doesn't stop any cheats at all. -
Bandicam doesn't stop cheats at all either. :P
I'd like to think that the public broadcast, hype and devastating game/reputation consequences will keep these teams from cheating.
Everyone but Carbon has had PUBLIC LIVE LAN experience. We've all seem them play this good in the flesh. None of these teams need to cheat to win, and cheating in any sense of the word is likely not even that much of an advantage.
If a team cheats it's going to be so obvious that they will be dq'ed. If they cheat to where is totally hidden and gets by our checks and measures then chances are it wasn't enough to impact the actual game itself. (note this still does not condone it)
I have full faith in the fact that none of these teams will be cheating, but we're taking the measures we can to prevent it and watch for it and will punish it to the fullest extent that we can. -

Triggerbots or something like a aimbot u can use with bandicam and Moss its a fact. But i think Moss is doing the same for lower PC resources ....

You can use pretty much any cheat besides chams on moss. On bandicam you would almost guaranteed be busted if you tried aimbotting/no recoiling/walling/any other types of cheats. -

Congrats to carbon -

Gj to hammertime, gj to carbon.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this.
1) Please don't swear
2) The BR stream was on a 2 minute delay. Though at the very beginning it was on a 1 minute delay. We asked them to change it.
3) No one looked at the BR stream to gain an advantage.
4) The BR stream was smoother because it was lower resolution and could handle a larger crowd.
5) #4 is true because the HG9 channel is partnered and the CFL channel was not. We could have used the official twitch.tv broadcast channel for this, but our goal is to expand and get more people on board with casting and displaying the game. We achieved this goal with nearly 1000 viewers on the CFL channel.
I would get some of your facts straight before coming to the forums to curse and swear at people.
