  • Great job delacos :) You kept a fair and honest match played between the two teams in the finals. This LAN wouldn't have happened if you weren't there

brb gets called out in front of 500 people on stream for something i still don't know,

    yeah much love
  • This is my convo from someone who was at the lan who i trust, (who i wont name)
So i mean what he said could be made up but i don't believe it is.

    bad comms
    cuz
when u guys wanted to drop in "war rooms"
    or some sht
    saidin was mad
they thought you guys were ghosting
thought whats his name was ghosting too
    bruce
[19:47] ERICK: Oh, yeah i dont know why bruce was sitting in the channel, we didnt even know he was there. But he wouldn't ghost, He just likes to listen to communication from teams during matches, (I know this because he did the same to us)
    ya ya bruce
[19:47] ERICK: also we had gotten clearance
[19:47] ERICK: before the event from jpurvis
[19:47] ERICK: before we did War rooms
    [19:47] ERICK: ALSO
    [19:47] ERICK: delaco
    [19:47] ERICK: suggested it
[19:47] ERICK: because people wanted it like crazy
[19:47] ERICK: Thanks for telling me this, I sit on a stream for 14 hours volunteering pretty much(I mean i know i didnt HAVE to but i wanted to give a good stream to the people.)
[19:48] ERICK: then i get disrespected in front of 500 people
[19:48] ERICK: And accused of ghosting? Makes me lol
[19:48] ERICK: I mean they couldnt tell me what the problem was when we weren't live?

Are these the reasons i was "called out" on live stream delaco?
If so i feel 100% disrespected.

I did not ghost, Nor do anything wrong.
When you brought up something about the casters PMing players, i was PMed by someone who was playing. I had my PMs turned off but because he was on my friends list i could still see it. From what i remember he said something about something being "staged" And i DEFENDED the lan by saying "its not staged"

The only thing i take FULL BLAME for was one of the rooms being invaded.
The match i was streaming got done early, so i was going to jump into a different match. Before i typed in the room password i was switched my stream to a different scene to not see crossfire, however it didn't actually change, it changed on MY screen, but OBS is buggy and does that sometimes. I'm sorry about this, and i told purvis right when it happened and then told you at a later time. I had also apologized to Saidin quickly after on skype because i felt bad.

Other than that i thought our cast was great
My camera skills are sub par but thats it.
Everyone casting did a great job and took a day out of their busy lives to do this. I mean a FULL day, we all we're up around 7 am and got done around 2 am.

I'd keep this more on the private side of things, but i basically got called out in front of 500-600 people for no reason. I'm pretty upset, and plan on not doing these kind of things for the community anymore if this is whats going to happen. I've gotten 3 xfires saying "Did you ghost for FG lan?"
  • As I can understand Erick's frustration, I just as much don't appreciate the way we were presented the issue at hand. Especially with us being live at the time, I was upset myself since the issue wasn't fully explained.

Overall, the casting / streaming went well and we did our job well. At least I believe we did. No ghosting took place on our part and if that is what Delaco or anybody else believes, well so be it. Accusations like this is very unfortunate as Erick has stated, we voluntarily assisted in bringing everybody a livestream of the event.

I can understand why my sitting in there might be frowned upon, and for that I'm sorry. I just wanted to listen in on their coms because their yelling and hearing the crowd in the background was the closest I could get to being there.

I wasn't casting their games, didn't have CF open (I was playing Battlefield lol), and didn't even key up my mic once other than to say "Good luck."

Regardless, nothing that I say can be proven or disproven. Just want to say my bit on the matter. I was asked (screamed at by a player) to leave the room and I did.

I think its pretty rotten the way it was handled regarding the Erick thing and doing it while it was live on the air, but I can excuse that because of how hectic it was at the actual event.

Just to clear up some air on the callout live

    Bruce Idle

    --

Bruce was simply idle in a mumble channel after a war room check. He was afk after a cast was done, and before a half started the teams wanted to ensure that a caster was not communicating with a team. No harm or foul was done.

    Live Callout

    --

This was during a very tense moment (After the 5-3 issue and the bruce idling issue I believe) and we were told casters had been PMing teams during the games. One of our spotters noted this happening and informed me of it. (Also, I personally saw a PM commenting about another team purposely disconnecting machines which was completely untrue). I had no way to communicate with the casting team outside of the cast itself and wanted to get the issue resolved immediately. As for directly calling out Erick, I take responsibility for that as I shouldn't have directly used any name on that communication and you can take me to the bank on that :(

I do want to apologies as it was the incorrect way to handle it, but we wanted the matches clean and fair for everyone. I don't have any impression that anything was said outside of idle chat, but it was very stressful all day! I think the casters overall did a great job with not a lot of direction before the start of the event.

I would again to thank Bruce Erick and the rest of the casting team as they provided excellent coverage all night for the event and definitely improved the experience for everyone.

PS: Erick/David if you want to talk to me about having some better planning for your side of things for future events I'd love to have a word.

I would have been upset if i was in your shoes as well. I was drained at the time (I finished extra configs on my PC's at 3AM, up to get to LAN at 7:30AM ^___^) and was giving everyone a good yelling by the end.

I also just want to say that tension was running high that late at night. I was purposely yelling at Delaco and Purvis to get in touch with you guys on immediate issues.

One of the things we've learned for next time is how these casts go. All you guys did such an excellent job, but when it came to between-match organization the 3 of us were often not on the main casting PC to be in touch with you (we were helping teams get set up etc). So a lot of the times we just had to RELY on you guys to be ready to go to keep the event moving.

So I also apologize for being at the end of my rope and putting undue pressure on purvis and delaco to "get things done".

Also, while there was plenty of drama between LL and Carnage. I'm still amazed at people trying to find excuses for losing and/or not fair competition. Delaco, Purvis and myself had to make some very tough calls to keep competition as fair as possible especially during that LL Carnage match. But for someone to assume that computers were being disconnected on purpose just seems... Wrong.

Especially after 14 hours of playing, one player hitting the windows 8 key to purposely delay a match was definitely not the right assumption. No one was purposely causing issues, and overall there really were very little issues.

If you remove Steelseries headsets and mumble from the equation, the game performed pretty damn good all things considered. Well above expectations.

Anyways, it's all love now, and I think the community here really has a new sense of camaraderie after all this has happened. Lets keep the momentum up for some great competition from CFL and the Invite tournament in April and ultimately the CF GL!

I stood behind Carnage for every single match (because I was asked to spot the match to make sure the disconnect issues were all legit. Nobody was trying to BS the DC issues. They were getting client errors, and to argue that they were doing anything on purpose would be a lie. I enjoyed spotting Carnage vs Lifeline 2 times and overall it was a fun experience to watch even though there was some heat between the teams, but that is expected in a finals match.
  • Thank you Delaco and Saidin. We are excited for what's to come in the future! :)
