Ban hacker's IP

MAC addresses are easier to forge than IP addresses.
You're a troll. I'm quite aware that MAC addresses are much harder to change than IP addresses. Go look up a tutorial for yourself, they are much more complex than changing your IP address. Please don't come in the thread with invalid information. -

YOU can change it, but the average Joe cannot, and they'd have no clue what to do if they thought they were just IP banned, and the IP changer methods weren't working. -
Yes, G4Box already bans all accounts related to a hacker's IP that is banned through their customer support (I.E. if someone submits a report and support determines they were hacking, all accounts related to the reported person's IP are banned permanently).
For those people saying G4Box should ban MAC addresses, take it from someone that has a certificate in Cisco Certified Network Associate 1:
Banning a MAC address of a router through the internet is impossible. Even if G4Box wanted to do it, technology simply doesn't let them.
The MAC address is stripped each router it goes through, so all G4Box would even know is the MAC address of the router closest to their server in the long link of routers you used to get your signal there.
Banning MAC addresses just simply does not work like you would expect it to. -

Also - many ISP do not allow to change MAC of Your router or PC without their knowledge
also more ofte they charge for changing the MAC adress.
SO basicaly block on MAC could work as 'backup' system for IP blocking. -

@GodsGunman: You sound like you know what you're talking about, however I was banned through MAC address in another game I played. Is this because the owner actually put thought and time into finding the MAC address, or am I mistaken?
Nobody can ban anybody through mac addresses unless you're playing on a local network, its as simple as that. Its just impossible.Annomader1 wrote: »this VV

Actually i mean change it not spoof it and i didnt use any special tools i didnt download anything from internet i only used what i found in control panel and as far the change it cost all i have to say is wtf show me proof of that and also wtf to "this w" -
What control panel? Not the windows control panel I should hope. Most networking firmware doesn't have a very user-friendly interface if any.
control panel in windows start menu u go to network and sharing and thats my.last hint:) maybe -

Since they are installing software on your computer, they could try to read the MAC off the hardware/firmware/whatever not from the packets being sent. Then it becomes just like any other hacker/xtrap arms race.
Ah that's a good idea, never thought of that xD
I googled it and it is possible, too. I figured it would probably be illegal or something but apparently it's not lol.they have? how you know?. you hack?
G4Box has stated IP bans are given to people that were reported for hacking and are found guilty many times.
