Like A Post

I would be interested in having the option to like a post. Sometimes I agree with someone, and feel the need to reply saying that I like their post, but I also feel like it would be spam.

This idea in no way a reputation system. The only place the 'like' would show is in the posters notification that they could see their post was liked, and possibly a small icon in the corner of a post that shows the amount of likes the post has received (if any).

I am aware Forum additions aren't top priority but it would make posting a bit easier.

Its nothing like Facebook. Just because there could be a system where like stands for, "I agree with your post," doesn't automatically make it Facebook relevant. It can be called something else, I don't care, I'd just like to be able to agree with someone else's post without having to post a reply saying so.

The actions of likes will only work in the following, suggestion, fan work and maybe Off Topic. In barracks, such as Tech Support, Clan Recruit section, Announcements, etc.. requires for you to post something, especially those who ask for help or has a issue seeking for a solution. Having the actions to like a thread...Don't like it, won't be very useful.

That's just my Opinion.

I actually was thinking that earlier. Such a good idea. Though we might then be crossing into facebook territory o.o

That's just my Opinion.

How so? I see discussions in Barracks where I agree with someone on their point of view, so I believe that it would really come handy in these types of situations. I can't see it being used in only the threads you specified.

It even can be tied into the honor system instead of Teamkills (which are nearly always accidental) and Desertions (which are mostly caused by DCs for most players).

Honor based off of how much percent of your total Likes are against your dislikes.
For example, 120 likes and 40 dislikes would give a honor of 75% (120/160, basically likes divided by total likes and dislikes)

91-100% being Very Good.
71-90% being Good
31-70% being Average
11-30% being Bad
0-10% being Very Bad
It add the forum incentive Z8 wants well avoiding the spam.
May even have a ribbon for high likes!

(It also reset everyone's honor automatically because everyone would start at 0/0 because the old ways are no longer counting towards it)

The only positive side would be to get fewer "+1" spams in suggestion section (although people are still gonna post "+1 ms2short")

Oh yeah, it can be a way for the GMs to see what is popular at a glance.
There another benefit.

Basically, you just look for a thread with lots of views/replies, and it's either a flamefest or something popular (talking about suggestions).
And clearly some people will make/use alts to support their ideas (totally not thinking of a certain forumer who made a lot of suggestions, got butthurt because none was implemented within a month, decided to be an ass and insult everyone and got banned).

Don't pretend people's opinion on the forum aren't biased by others, we can see in some threads that people take a side just to argue (which is what I'm pretty much doing here, as I don't really have anything against the like system, but think there's a way it'll get abused), or agree with everything the first few posts contain (like in the "why do you drink alcohol" thread, everyone agreed with Gods in the first few pages, which seemed quit e a bit hypocritical).

Statistics, like what kind of threads do people enjoy the most? It honestly could go as far as another Forum widget that shows the top liked threads, or whatever, but perhaps that is too far. This idea is extensive, and I gave it a general aspect. I'm still keen on this idea.
