A random S*** after you lose a scrim round - Acceptable
Consistent swearing and insulting - Not Acceptable and should be penalised.
Easy
Just kick em for harassment
Or block chat if people are playing dumb and "can't see" what's wrong. -
To summarize, there are three kinds of people, those who think swearing is wrong, those who think you should be penalized to some extent, and those who dont care. Personally i find it funny when someone swears. If they want to be immature, let them be. They just prove to the other people they are not worthy for respect. And as i said before if you cant deal with swearing, you must live in a bubble and your parents did an EXCELLENT job protecting you from the outside world, but while you are playing crossfire, you should get used to it, because i hate to tell you this, but this is how 90% of the population anywhere would talk.

No, this is not discussing bans. Notice I said penalize, not ban. While ban is a type of penalty, im talking about penalty in general, not necessarily ban.
So without further ado...

Penalize definitely; swearing is just part of the gaming community.. heck, If you were playing a difficult Single-Player game, There's a chance that you would say something you wouldn't want to say; YouTube Commentators occasionally swear, but it's not that they do it all the time.
Perhaps making the "Block Chat" for swearing would be useful. *Hint**Hint*

Well I swear a lot too but I think it would be good to add this.
Imagine all those little kids swearing and then getting punished for it, they would go insane. I would really love to see that
I think there should be a auto ban for insulting, like you swear 5 times and you get banned for 30 minutes. There are a few servers in Modern Warfare 3 and Counter Strike that use this mod and it is actually not bad to play in a room without people insulting each other.
On those servers people don't kick you when you play good. When you do a nice kill in Counter Strike people will say "nice shot dude", in Crossfire they say "HACKER!! KICK HIM!!!" -

When the insulting and swearing gets to a point that players are leaving the game and potentially making bad reviews for the game, z8 would step in and take more action against against these type of players.
From a business's standpoint: yes, penalize them.
