Less Rounds In HM/MM/HMX

The current rounds system in Mutation Modes are 9, 11, 13, 15, 17. The rounds in SnD are 5, 7, 9, 11, 13.

I have been getting gall these errors in round 17 in Hero mode lately, and it is really annoying. It will probably take a while to fix this, so why not shorten the number of rounds in Mutation Mode? Down to maybe the SnD level. Please consider adding 5 and 7 rounds options.

Pros:
Less likely to get annoying errors that delete all your progress.

Cons:
Needs to join games more frequently.

What kind of errors are you getting?

And you don't have to always play a 17 round game. It's up to the room creator or the room host to change the # of rounds.
  • I really don't see the point sadly... You could have 4 people in your room and 5 rounds would be crap as you're not getting the kills or exp you normally get with a larger group and higher rounds...
  • I've always thought they take too long. Add some options for 7 round games, and perhaps 5.

I used to get a lot of client errors, like every 3 rounds I get one. Now the client error is rare, but the game some time just suddenly ends for everyone, and the screen would say "Failed to connect to server" or "Server is full" or something like that. I would only be able to finish about a third of all my HM games.

Second thing, I can only play HM in UK4, because that bug still isn't fixed for me. All games there are 17 rounds, and if I make a 9 round room, people don't join or join and yell at me to change it 17 rounds or call me noob.

The point is getting some GP/EXP is better than getting nothing. A majority of HM rooms hit 16 people by the 2nd round. Some 17 round games only have 6 people by the last round.
  • The games take like an hour to complete when it's above 9 rounds, if you play from start to finish. It'd be nice to have quick games of 5 or 7 rounds.

    +1.
  • 5 rounds would be good, it is great if you want to have less time to be kicked too, in fact it doesn't really matter that much if you either.

But erroring or getting kicked after a long game? No thanks.
  • The reason SnD has at least 5 rounds is because players wont do a 'fast mission' there. On Mutant modes players die with 1 and get the next round 5-10 up for doing a fast mission. Keep it 9 please.
  • I can't even play HM/MM/HMX because it disconnects me before I even get there. Sucks...

Oh well, I just play more TDM/SnD. :)

TDM missions have a 100 kill per round minimum, even though the least number of kills is 40. HM can have that too, like 9 rounds minimum.
  • Bad.

    I like big scores.
    You suggest less rounds.
    Less rounds = less score.
    You suggest bad idea.

    P.S
    Let me suggest more rounds.
    19, and 21.

Are you kidding me? Do seriously think 3/4 is smaller than 6/8 ?

You are assuming I die in this mode. 340>420
    (#rounds * 20)

420 kills is more than 340. I would like to get more than 400 kills in a single hm game, but right now my best is merely around 360. (and I'm not talking hmx, that mode is just silly 700+ scores)

.... Wouldn't say something that I don't believe to be true.
  • That's nice! 24 kills per round minimum, not accounting for when you are a mutant or joined late! Seriously no offense but I would think you were hacking! (That was a compliment). I would love to see some of your replays and learn from you.

I will take back all the disrespect I have shown you.

Back to the original point, since you play in alpha, you probably get kicked a lot. My plan here would actually help you, because it gives people less time and opportunity to kick you. The scenario you described would not apply, because less rounds also means the less time you have to play, which means more games you could play, so in the end, you would get a net worth of about the same amount of GP and XP. But you would be kicked less, so you can actually gain back the GP you lost because you were kicked.

Understand now? Sorry if I'm not clear.

Ya I get your point, less rounds means less time to kick. Maybe they should just add more options to both ends. Less rounds option and more rounds option (when I got buddies to help defend me from kicks).
