  • So yeah im thinking of getting CREATIVE SOUNDBLASTER SB0770 X-FI 7.1 for a sound card and TURTLE BEACH EARFORCE 2Z for a head set, any help on if its worth £85-ish? or not im not really good with these things xd
  • Brett, get the TurtleBeach x11s from Game/Gamestation, £39.99/£49.99. They're amazing, and are XBox 360 and HD compatible too.

As for sound card, you're best off looking on Amazon.
This is what I'm using right now:
    Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer

The cheapest I've seen them for, new, is here.

Do you know what sound card you're running atm? Whether it's on-board or PCI.

Tbh I rarely play my XBox either, but these are still perfect for PC gaming, and the mic is crystal clear.

The only difference between this set, and the more expensive ones, are the fact that the £89.99 set are rechargable wireless. They're all 7.1
But the X11s have a 16ft lead, so, ya know :p

Will your motherboard support an additional PCI card?
It should do, but it's best to make sure before hand imo.

Can you open up the side panel of your PC's case, or just open it enought to see the motherboard?

It should be labeled as PCI, and in some instances PCI-E (a cheaper 5.1 sound card will work in PCI-E). The slots will basically be located at the rear end on the PC, where you'd find the rear jacks, and the graphics card.

If you have one of those free, you'll be fine with whatever sound card you purchase, presuming it's of the right frequency (though you'd have to have a VERY old PC for it to not be able to handle a sound card, so I wouldn't worry)

Well, it's you're money, but if you want my honest opinion, the difference in headsets will only be minimal, certainly not £40+ worth of difference :p especially if you buy a decent 7.1 sound card, as that'd pick up any slack an even lower quality headset would lose.
