Ok, i was a little berserk on my other thread on my other account, but this should be enough info to tell a gm what my problem is, but first off, this problem has never happened in my gaming experience of cross fire, it just started today, and another thing is
that i DON'T have a LAP TOP

i really want to play cross fire, i got 3 days left, and i love cross fire

It seems the anti hack is just hanging. Make sure to close all programs when your loading CF.

As well, do this after doing a reboot. If this doesn't work, try a re-install.

I know these are basic steps, but they usually resolve the anti-hack hanging.

I reinstalled 3 times, i ve just tried running as administrator, and what do you mean by closing all programs, which ones?

Everything that is not related to a required windows program

Anti virus, msn, ect

i've never ever had to disable my symantec to play cross fire or msn, but i ll give it a try...

Man what the hell can be going wrong, cross fire always worked, then when i decide to play again i find out there was a little update and i click start and bingo this stupid problem,
if only a gm would read this...

Umm, yes i do have my windows xp cd but theres no way in hell im doing a system restore,
and i just try'd reformating and it still doesnt work
can a gm please help

System Restore wouldn't help. If you just reformatted, I suggest you update your drivers.

Yes i have restarted/rebooted my comp over 3 times now, yes i did reformat because i watched the video listed in the tech forums by the gms, and im pretty sure my drivers are all up to date, but i can double check

No, once you reformatted you usually have to update them again. I suggest you don't do automatic update of the driver, and manually look them up yourself.

okay, so I was having the same issue as you. It just started happening out of the blue yesterday. So after looking through the forums & finding nothing, I noticed that Avast did an update yesterday. I'm not sure what virus protection program you are running, but I disabled it & also manually added crossfire to my exceptions through my firewall & CF seemed to load fine after that. Today, I tried starting CF & had the same issue again, but after disabling Avast, it loaded fine. Try disabling any anti-virus software that you have & see if CF starts.

If he really did reformat his computer, he shouldn't have an anti-virus on his computer. Unless it comes preinstall on the CD.

very true. A buddy of mine has been having the same issue also & I just told him to stop Avast & his CF finally loaded also. So I really hope this is the answer to your situation as it was to ours.

Ok, i just did automatic update, and when i did reformat yes it did close everything, it closed symantec etc, and cross fire didnt work, atm im downloading nvideo update which just happened 7 days ago

AND CAN I JUST SAY THAT CROSS FIRE WORKED JUST TWO WEEKS AGO AND IT RAN AS SMOOTH AS BUTTER, but now it just doesnt

and how do i manually search for updates

Edit Again: Cross Fire still wont work when i once again disabled auto protect on anti virus and added cross fire to my fire wall exceptions list...

What if theres something wrong on z8's part like a missing file in the cross fire folder?

Do a clean reformat, should have NOTHING on your computer at all. Then if you know your drivers, google that driver's name, or go to the Company's website itself and they usually have the drivers there. Like if I wanted to update my Intel Graphic Card, I would go to www.intel.com and search for my driver.

Try using a program called gamebooster. It shuts down any unnecessary programs you wont need while playing a game, thus making it load faster. It may possibly shut down the catalyst of your problem.

game booster does nothing to help me and im sick of it, no gm helps me, and you guys do, gm's design the game, you guys dont, gms are suppose to be helpful, instead you guys are
and the game just worked for me but then i shut me computer off and its doing the same problem, why cant a gm help

i dont understand how u can play this game with that graphics card. i had the same one like 3 months ago when i started playing cf and i kept gettin fps lag like all the time. Then i bought a new one and game was runnin smooth.
Buy a new graphics card.
and try reinstalling cf and if u did that already i suggest formatting and installing windows xp.

lol, i ve always been able to play cross fire on high detail with my graphics card m8, and i can play combat arms with low detail and get no fps lag,
and i can play war rock on the highest detail ever and not lag or get fps lag, you would be surprised on what my computer can do

If you reformat your PC you WIll have NOTHING LEFT only original OS files. All other files not with the OS will be lost.

A system restore doesnt do n e thing like that just restores to a previous save point windows saved on the Hard Drive. That Worked Properly.
